Dear Clients, Friends and Family,

 

I’m excited to announce that after 10 years as the founder and Managing Partner of MDO Partners, I have joined Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney as a Shareholder in the firm’s Corporate section and the leader of its International Business practice group. I will also serve as a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.

 

This is an incredible opportunity for me and our clients to benefit from a national full-service law firm with an outstanding culture, nearly 450 exceptional lawyers and government relations professionals, extensive practice areas and a serious commitment to diversity. Buchanan represents some of the highest profile and innovative companies in the nation, including more than 40 of the Fortune 100.

 

MDO was established to deliver excellent legal representation, practical business advice and superior client service through an expert team of attorneys and advisors. With the team, resources and collaborative culture at Buchanan, I know our clients will continue receiving this same exceptional representation and service, but with a deeper bench and broader footprint. Buchanan has also positioned itself for growth over next few years, and I’m pleased to become a part of their vision by growing the firm’s corporate practice in South Florida, and leading its International Business practice group. 

 

I’m very proud of what we accomplished at MDO over the past 10 years. We represented wonderful clients in interesting, complex and important transactions and global compliance matters. We won various awards, including Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America, and AV-Preeminent from Martindale-Hubble. We hired, trained and mentored incredibly talented, diverse and trailblazing young lawyers. MDO contributed greatly to the legal profession through its leadership at the Florida Bar International Law Section. We established a strong international network of professionals, including co-founding ELBA Global. MDO was also a champion for diversity, including co-founding the Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) Compliance & Ethics Section, and launching the Miami Finance Forum Black Students Initiative.

 

I want to thank all of our clients who have entrusted MDO with their legal matters over the years. I want to extend a special thanks to all of our outstanding attorneys, advisors, law clerks and staff who have dedicated their time and talents to making MDO a success. I am also very grateful to the countless friends of the firm who have always supported us. Finally, I want to thank God for blessing me with this amazing firm, extended family and life experience.

 

MDO began winding down operations on May 1, 2023, and we will be transitioning the firm’s clients and matters to Buchanan over the next 30 days unless a client wishes for us to transition them to another lawyer or law firm. I look forward to welcoming each of our existing clients to Buchanan where I will continue to focus in the areas of corporate governance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and securities, as well as global compliance.
