Lisa Capote
Ms. Capote focuses her practice on global compliance for healthcare and life sciences. She is an AV Preeminent-Rated attorney, which is the highest level of professional excellence ranking. Ms. Capote represents various clients from Fortune 500 to startup companies in international trade.
Prior to joining MDO Partners, Ms. Capote founded her own law firm in 2006.

Since that time, she has represented companies in the food industry, including dietary supplements, logistics industry, pharmaceutical industry, healthcare industry, and medical device industry.
​
Ms. Capote has been instrumental in creating and implementing compliance programs for various organizations, one of which was recently inspected and received zero findings with regards to Ms. Capote’s compliance program.
​
Ms. Capote has represented healthcare companies in the sale of their clinics as well as represented individual physicians before administrative agencies. She has counseled pharmaceutical companies regarding HIPAA compliance, HITECH compliance, Anti-Kick Back regulations, and False Claims Act. She has prepared and implemented policies and procedures regarding these areas.

Ms. Capote’s clients have been domestic as well as international including Spain, France, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Bolivia, South Africa, Portugal, United Kingdom, Russia, Israel, Greece, Australia, China, Japan, Taiwan, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Pakistan, and India.

Ms. Capote’s international trade practice focuses on representing clients before regulatory agencies, such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission, FDA, EPA, USDA and Customs and Border Protection including the importation and regulation of foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics, drugs, medical devices, and chemicals.
​
Ms. Capote received her law degree from University of Miami where she was on the executive committee for both the Hispanic Law Students Association and Phi Alpha Delta. She received her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University.

Ms. Capote is actively involved in the community through her service to various organizations including CNC, Alpha Charter of Excellence, the Florida Bar and the Hispanic National Bar Association.
​
Ms. Capote currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at CNC. CNC is a non-profit serving the underprivileged of South Florida through job placements for over 38,700 individuals, enrollment of over 4,980 at risk students, and built over 1,900 subsidized housing units for families.
​
She serves as a board member of Alpha Charter of Excellence, a local independent charter school serving the Little Havana community.
​
Ms. Capote serves as Regional Deputy President of Region VIII (Florida) of the Hispanic National Bar Association, a not-for-profit, national membership organization that represents the interests of the more than 100,000 Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, and law students in the United States and its territories.
Ms. Capote has been recognized as the Daily Business Review’s Top Lawyers and was awarded a fellowship to the Florida Bar’s Wm. Reece Leadership Academy.
