Lauren Bengochea serves as the firm’s Senior Associate Counsel. She has experience in establishing effective compliance programs, including researching various industries and regulations such as telecommunications, hospitality, and banking. She also assists clients in conducting compliance program assessments, governance, documentation and implementation, including developing codes of business conduct and drafting policies and procedures relating to anti-corruption (e.g. FCPA, UK Bribery Act, etc.), OFAC, labor and employment, records management, data privacy, conflict of interests, and internal investigations.

Ms. Bengochea also has corporate governance and transactional experience representing both domestic and international clients in various industries, including hospitality, medical devices, luxury goods, food and beverage, automotive, aviation, technology, and real estate. Ms. Bengochea is responsible for drafting, negotiating, and advising clients on corporate matters such as corporate formation, acquisitions, joint ventures, stock purchase agreements, escrow agreements, operating agreements, employment, and non-competition agreements, various service agreements, supplier and distribution contracts, terminations, commercial leases, and other corporate transaction documents. 

Prior to joining MDO Partners, Ms. Bengochea was a legal Intern at the Agency for Healthcare Administration, a judicial intern for Senior Judge James Lawrence King, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, a legal intern at Miami Children’s Hospital in the Ethics and Compliance Department, and a summer legal intern at Parrish Medical Center under its Senior Vice President.

In the community, Ms. Bengochea is an active member of the International Section of the Florida Bar, the Cuban American Bar Association and the Hispanic National Bar Association where she has assisted the firm's attorneys with various presentations for conferences and seminars.
