Companies doing business in Chile – either directly or through subsidiaries or consultants and agents — need to ensure compliance with the applicable Chilean anti-corruption laws and update their compliance programs accordingly. Failure to comply with such anti-corruption laws may result in criminal fines up to twice the amount of the bribe, and sanctions and penalties, including imprisonment of the individuals involved for up to five years.
